@freeqwerqwer While I do love Walter's interpretation, I feel Bernstein did the piece more justice. Perhaps given that he dedicated his version to his late wife.

not to say that his requiem mask was his darkest opera, and is to this day one of the darkest operas ever wirten

Good performance, but still prefer Gardiner by far. Much more simple and well defined. Truly pure and divine like I've never heard.
The voices in the fugue [Kyrie] are much better pronounced and articulated.

Mozart Requiem is best interpreted by Bruno Walter. No one comes close to him. It's so divine. I cry silently inside of me each time I hear it, but only from maestro Walter.
