Vulnerable children are open to exploitation that knows no borders. The huge wage gap between Eastern and Western Europe has led to increased migration and a rise in trafficking.

However change is on its way. This reality may be bleak but improvements have been made. With enough time, effort, and the will to succeed these children can look forward to a brighter future.

Produced in 2006 by the International Labour Organization.

  • In the United States, most schools are closed in the summer. This is because children in farm communities historically were expected to be working in the fields during this busy season on the farms. Today, few Americans are farmers, yet the ones who are still employ their children whenever possible. Having grown up on a farm, and having worked there as a child, I heartily agree with having children learn work at an early age.

  • Wow

  • these are WHITE kids working like this???

  • We give major attention to troubled gay teens on youtube and don't care about these kids

  • If the people owned their own fields, as opposed to being subsistence laborers for private plantationists, they could have a chance at building surplus and reducing hours necessary for children.

Until those who work own, exploitation will be the obvious and only result.

No one should steal the value of another's work because he holds a piece of paper saying he can.
