The second track from Martin Phipps score to the BBC's wonderful 2004 adaption of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel 'North and South'. I managed to obtain the soundtrack myself. Here is the second track, it is one of my first videos.. so if anyone would like me to upload the rest of the soundtrack please let me know!

  • The "I've seen hell" speech at the end of episode one, along with the music and the images is one of the most brilliant scenes I've seen on any tv series ever. Gives me chills every time.

  • @MrSouzy they were still open when I was at school and we had lessons on every conceivable name and stage for a bit of cotton and how pack horses went over the bridges. My brother lives on the next street and it's half still cobbles up there. Not fun for little feet on 3 foot of winter snow.

  • @JadeTigerGem he's hot in anything, Firth and McFaddyn look like wet fish in comparrison.

  • @MsIdril I thought that..also Jane Eyre, they all seem to have jumped on the same idea, around the same time.

  • @FrozenFairieWings just get BBC drama dvds.

  • would take this over Austen, any day of the week.

  • @eliptikus it's still grim up there, factories only shut a few years ago.

  • So heartfelt. What a great composer.

  • Thank God for YouTube.

And I'm an Atheist, so lets just say that I like this ALOT.

  • @lafillenoir They mean set in the past i.e. period drama, at least i think so...

  • So amazing! I love the series and now trying to locate the book so I can get a good read in after this college term. The music is...wow...just wow...part of the reason I love it so much.
