This piano concerto makes me happy everytime I hear it.
Scriabin was - am I right? - the piano teacher of Horowitz.
Thanx truecrypt for uploading this piece of musical luck!
5* for Scriabin and 5* for you!

an atonal concerto....now that wouldabeen a hit!

Interesting performance. The balance between piano and orchestra is pretty good and I really liked the first movement. Second and third movement lose some steam, however, and I have to say I prefer Ashkenazy for these.

This piece and this playing is too vulnerable in this world...Scriabin should have burned it right after it was completed.
I also don't understand why this piece isn't more popular. It's very clear and lyrical, with beautiful melodies. Not at all dense or overwrought.
It's a shame Scriabin never wrote another piano concerto. One in his atonal style, for instance...

One of the most over-looked and under-appreciated artists of all time. This piece, in my humble opinion, is his best.
