This is from a superb LP called 'At Home With the Dubliners', made around 1969, I think. Luke's performance is absolutely beguiling: how many big hairy men can get away with singing romantically from a woman's point of view? His voice is beautiful.

'Now I'm Easy' is a song written and sung best by the folk singer Eric Bogle, born in the Scottish Border country - went to Peebles High school - who emigrated to Australia when he was still young. It's about an old farmer he met in the outback who had lost just about everything and come to terms with his life now that he doesn't have long to go. Eric also wrote 'The Band Played Waltzing Matilda' and the wonderful anti-war song best known as 'The Green Fields of France'

Hi Kelly,I wonder if you can help me find a song sung by Ronnie Drew.Its about a crofter whos wife has died and left him with a small daughter,at the end of each verse he sings "but its all over now and Im easy"I had this song once on an LP but lost it when I moved house and Ive been trying to trace it ever since.By the way,many thanks for the videos and songs on You Tube,they are brilliant.

i have the LP as well a,d agree with Nelly Pringle onlyLuke could sing this song which is normally sung by a woman.He had a superb voice and the sound of him singing this is so poignant a wonderful voice,a lovely man and a great,great group
