  • Lately there is something gaining popularity on YouTube that fits in with the Mondegreen theme... a user called Buffalax started posting foreign language music videos (notably those from India's Bollywood) but with English "translations" which are really what the words in the song seem to sound like. It's inspired a lot of copycats.

Marina: You might want to take note of this as the user's name, "Buffalax" is fast becoming a new verb.

  • I just try to sing along with some of the old hard rock songs of the 90's here and I make plenty of Mondegreens!

  • For the 1:16 seconds I thought I was in school. But I remember I was on ''youtube'' Lol..

  • This is the best party that I've ever been to. Today I asked for a god, to pour some wine in my eyes. Let me introduce you to someone before the party is done. (Something like that, its faith no more, king for a day, fool for a lifetime.

  • Someone's probably mentioned this already, but there are countless videos on this site devoted to misheard lyrics from Nightwish songs.

*it's only a mondegreen if the real and mistaken words are in the same language. So the "Carmina Burana" and "Dragostea din tei" parodies don't count.

  • @limpkik78 The original lyric is "revved up like a Deuce", and probably refers to the 1932 Ford Coupe that was nicknamed the Deuce.

  • @RhodesSch0lar The song was written, and originally recorded by Joni Mitchell.

  • dont give up sounds like donkey butt i donno who sings it though

  • let me pull up to that bumper and smack that monkey
