Chickens do quite well in the wilderness. They provide both eggs and meat. We protect our chickens with a high-power electric fence. The chicken coop is very small so that the body heat from the chickens will keep them warm in the winter.

  • We had a grey chicken like yours but it was attacked by our cockrel for looking 'strange' i.e. not like the others. We gave her to a neighbour as she would not come out of the chicken house. Would like some more but it's a no go...

  • I'm sure that without the electric fence, these chickens would dinner in a very short time.

  • A fully charges deep cycle battery will run the fence for at least a month. We charge the battery either on the main solar array or with the small generator.

I´d recommend you stop being an asshole. Be kind.

  • You need a few wetbacks they would have that thing built in five minutes but i dont think they have them in Alaska.

  • how cold does it get there? any problems during the winter?

  • Oh and maybe some Black Sexlinks?

  • Turkey Necks, buff Orpingtons and Barred Plymouth rocks?
