Stan Chambers, who was in the KTLA helicopter, recently (2011) retired from a 67-year career at KTLA, during which he was considered one of the best anchors/reporters/commentators in Los Angeles.

A former girlfriend of mine, who lived in L.A. for several years, once told me that Chambers' reputation was such that he was considered "The Walter Cronkite Of Southern California", such was the quality of his work and his talent as a broadcast journalist.

Hope this will never happen again! Eventhough the crime rate is still high, it´s getting lower. It´s not that bad as it was in 90´s but still crime is the problem of the whole America. We have soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq - hell we need them home to protect our cities! Don´t you see that USA is becoming 3rd world? If I were the president, my firts 2 steps would be closing the borders and having inner cities patroled by the army. We mustn´t lose this nation!
