Dig-It! March 2008 (8 months) learning the reverse figure 8 with distractions (tug toy on close upright, open container of treats on left upright). Tight jump work sessions are ended with some flat trajectory, linear distance work (sends and recalls).

  • hi, how old do border collies have to be before you can train them in agility, we took ours to a rspca open day, and i was going to take him to try the agility out, but was told he was too young and i could damage his bones , he is 4 months old

  • @lozzikane i start training my dogs as soon as I get them. The training challenge depends on the dogs age (for safety). a lot of non equipment work obviously

  • .......... but you can do a puppy version of agility, without the jumping. There are some great videos on puppy agility on YouTube, you should watch them! Although you're dog is probably old enough now, since your comment was 9 months ago....

  • A dog must be fully grown before he can do agility, so at least 1 year old!

  • Lookin' good!
