New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is rolling out his new reform agenda with a series of town hall meetings around the state. At a meeting in Raritan Township, Hunterdon County, Christie laid out proposed ethics reforms that take on some sacred cows of New Jersey politics, starting with equal treatment for the governor and the legislature when it comes to new, tougher rules on financial disclosure. Also included in the reforms: a complete end to dual office holding, a limit of one public salary per state official, and an end to pensions for officials convicted of crimes. • Christie spoke against dual office to a media outlet while driving to a fundraiser for dual officeholder Carl Block.

Christie attended the swearing-in of Morris Freeholder William Chegwidden in January, who is also the mayor of Wharton. Christie's close friend Brick Mayor Stephen Acropolis has taken a second public job as the director of the Toms River Municipal Utilities Authority. America, we have a problem....

  • This man is an ass. He sinhlehandedly has cretaed animosity between the citizens of this State. Puts misguided information out there as fact and stupid people believe everything he says.

  • This man is by far the greatest interpersonal communicator in my lifetime.

  • " He's antagonistic", " He's confrontational" -- How about " He's honest" and " He doesn't hide behind bullshit flowery jargon" instead?

  • @Hammerlix Hey jerk...where were the local officials when the snow fell? THOSE goons were responsible to reel in the DPW losers to get the job done

  • @veritasis1776 Do your own research. See how many of the wealthiest 3% have left NJ over the past few years. Do you want the rest of them to leave? Will that help NJ.?

  • Our missing Governor saved taxes, like when he eliminated auto safety inspections. The People still pay for Inspections, having a Governor during natural disasters and road plowing, BUT he eliminated the service, itself. If we pay for something that we don't get, where do cash savings go? Answer: "Million Dollar Salary Tax Repealed" The million dollar a year families couldn't care less... they don't hang in Jersey for blizards, they're in Florida partying with Governor Christie!

  • @Gabriar yay, give Iran a nuke or two behind our backs and forfeit the release of hostages.

  • He made good points about disclosure but so did the woman who questioned why the wealthiest 3% in NJ aren't being asked to pay out. Christie should look at Washington's Initiative 1098. If both father and billionaire son Bill Gates can support it, why not Christie? I-1098 would cut taxes on middle-class families while providing stable revenue dedicated to protecting education and health care priorities like K-12 class- size reduction efforts and Basic Health coverage. The wealthiest get taxed.

  • Good grief PLEASE RUN FOR PRESIDENT!
