Over 1 million Eastern Europeans in UK

This recent news story by the biased-BBC reports that immigration from Eastern Europe has become negative, with more people leaving the UK than arriving for the first time. Long-term immigration had fallen 11% last year according to the BBC (most other sources put the figure at 9%).

This is no doubt an attempt by the government controlled BBC to play down recent public concerns over the massive level of immigration from Eastern Europe into the UK.

The UK has seen over a million Polish immigrants arrive in just 6 years. By far the highest number of any European country, after New Labour failed to control immigration and massively underestimated the numbers. It was also the last Conservative government under John Major, who pushed for Eastern European countries to join the EU and pledged to allow them entry to the UK.

Is it any wonder though why so many Brits are now leaving this country in search of a better life elsewhere, when there's now so many foreign immigrants here. Many towns and cities across the country are now barely recognisable as being British towns and cities. Wages and employment conditions have suffered greatly with the influx of cheap labour. Many of these Eastern Europeans live in squalid and overcrowded accommodation and can afford to work for much less than their British counterparts, working longer hours and driving wages down.

Disagree totally. What has Poland done for Britain? Increased housing needs, put citzens (i.e. northern germanic) out of pocket, has strained our health care system...oh yeah and claiming benefits while working aswell .... ive seen many eastern europeans do that....oh another bun in the oven...

@pressyapoland Well you're right that people have been slow to realise immigration was out of control. The real problem was during the final years of the Labour government where they had an open-border policy and no controls whatsoever which is what allowed 1 million Poles to move here in just under 2 years. That is what woke people up and made people anti-immigration. Is it too late to do anything? Not at all. The first step is leaving the EU and repatriating all the EU people.

@BritainDivided I think British people started to limit immigration a little bit too late. It is happening since long time and nobody even moved a finger to do something with that, now everybody realised that there are too much "students" and "asylum seekers" as well as illegal immigrants. Is it not a little bit too late?

@BritainDivided coming here for 1 or 2 years is waste of time. Then those people coming back to country and see that was bad decision and try to go back here but then there is nothing to go back for.. I came and plan to settle down here. In first few months of being here i wanted to go back, now - i dont. I am goin to Poland just to visit parents but all my life is now here.
