The Crouches was the first black BBC sitcom and a great showcase for some new talent like Jimmy Akingbola who was listed for a Bafta but unfortunately didnt get enough votes to be nominated.
An intimate sitcom about the trials and tribulations of a black family living in Walworth, south-east London. Childhood sweethearts Roly and Natalie Crouch have been married for 18 years. With two demanding teenagers, Aiden and Adele, plus live-in parents Langley and Sylvia, the pressure on the extended Crouch household sometimes reaches boiling point.
it was not the first black sitcom.

@clazza01 the show was good but from my understanding the creator of the show did not know that much about African Caribbean culture and they called in the writers from desmond to help the script out but it helped but the damage was already done its is out on dvd from amazom uk also the first black sitcom called the fosters is also out wiith Lenny henry
