First time fighting Nightmare. He's easy on Normal mode, the two attacks to watch out for is the knife that pops out and his ice beam. When his ice beam attack comes out, slash away at his core. You can let him pull you under to fight a previous boss to take out half of his lifebar or so.

Pretty nice Nightmare fight. For me, it never goes well. All the fights with Nightmare are, well, a nightmare. D:
