hi,
is h7 the best bulb to make the adaptation for this torch?
-
@transparent101 ~~ I made one and used an 18v LiOn battery, it really rocks and stays bright for a good long while, but if i leave it on more than a couple minutes my flashlight starts to melt

I tried to make one using two lantern batteries (6Vx2) but the light flickers then dies. What could be the problem?

Make sure both the battery's are not going flat. This light flickers and dies the same when the battery's are going flat. Make sure that the batteries are connected together in series to get 12v. Do not connect them in parallel because you will only get 6v and it won't work. You should really use rechargeable lead acid batteries or similar for this sort of thing because they handle more load and lantern batteries wont last very long at all.

Also, how do you focus the beam? I needed to adjust the position of my bulb to get it focused. How bout you?

I worked out that I needed to move the bulb back out of the reflector a bit. I made some c shaped washers and slid them in one by one between the bulb and the reflector until the beam was as small as I could get it. The original bulb was not an h7 so I had to do away with the original lamp holder altogether.

Erm, any idea how many lumens would this torch be??
DarkDestiny98 2 years ago
I have no way of measuring it but according to Google that particular type of lamp gives off 2700 lumens.
