I totally agree. On the age-uke particularly none of them seemed able to connect the block to power generated by the hips using the serape muscles, except perhaps one or two guys like the guy you mention. I applaud this club for having so many students, but could it be because the sensei goes easy on them and gives them a high rank a little too easily? It matters to all of us, because we want the black belt to be held in high regard. Anyway, for age-uke try Kagawa on youtube.

There is a black guy in the middle of the class. Clearly he's the only one who understands what the teacher is trying to teach.

He should be placed at the front to demo to translate and demo.

The teacher (the sensei) was good but nothing to do that if the students didn't do what the sensei told them.This is the essentials of the practising of the shotokan karate and the students didn't realize that.If somebody don't trainig all of the heart...nothing to do...

Good instructor, knows his stuff. The students suck, they lack discipline. They lack spirit. Yes, this is shotokan.
