  • ...what the Bible calls "having a good example to follow". :)

  • Of course, it all comes from the Holy Spirit. Not saying we do exactly what people in the Bible did; that's legalistic in a way; what I mean is that we should ask for the Holy Spirit and be led by Him in all we do. I mentioned entertainment earlier because it used to be my big struggle and I was greatly helped by the character of apostles. It really made me, and the Holy Spirit has convicted me of this 100 times, to want to follow Christ and be His disciple. It wasn't moralizing but rather...

  • I think that more or less everyone is doing this. I can't see a way out of it. Let's apply it to entertainment. We should be like Jesus and as He said we should deny ourselves. I'm a hypocrite here because all I do is study for college but when it comes to self denial we can't help but take an example from the Bible. Otherwise we might end up in denying ourselves things we don't need which doesn't indicate any commitment.

  • @ngkjeldgaard Sorry that's BULLSHIT. There is no HOLY SPIRIT. There never has been, there never was. It's called SELF DELUSION. When you're conditioned from childhood to believe something and you trick yourself into believing it, you start to 'feel' things and 'see' things and that's what the brain does in ANY RELIGION WORLDWIDE as long as someone's been indoctrinated for enough time, esp if it's since childhood.

  • @electronicoffee He's saying following a laundry list doesn't get you into Heaven, we need to have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, a byproduct being that our actions will become purer and purer.

  • this is encouraging

  • Now I'm confused as shit, thanks religion there's only 40,000 versions of you, and everyone thinks their the right one.

  • @Mathenaut Yep. If you're not doing something 'good' and you're 'holy', then obviously people are MORALIZING YOU as a mistake. What the fuck EVER. This is a big bunch of bullshit to condone evil actions in the name of a false God.

  • @sixfigures1 That's ignorant as hell. Moralizing is EXACTLY what Christianity is about.

  • Grand copout. Oh wow.
