Neil from the Young Ones (the 1980s British comedy show, played by Nigel Planer) hosting Countdown (Australia's main chart show during the 1970s and 1980s), on 15 december 1985.

Part 1 includes him performing (miming) his hit single "Hole In My Shoe" (a cover of the Traffic song from the 1960s).

The guest hosting gig looks to be part of his tour of Australia for the "Heavy Concept Album" which featured that single.

  • Neil Live

I went to his show at the Comedy Theatre on this tour. I remember that there was very few people there!

  • wow never seen this. still got neils album

  • i thought that about the english countdown as wel, lol,. never seen this before though, thanks for uploading

  • He really says "arse" on this version, instead of miming the word while the soundtrack plays "clothes".

By the way, the opening segment does look like the British Countdown set.
