  • Continue. the more absorbant the pad has to be and I know ducks are major wet poopers.

  • I have gone round and round with that one. I have used plastic table clothes and they seem to tear after a time. Then I tried vinyal and that was too hot for them also I insert a mini pad in for Phillip and it would stick on there so much I could barely pull it off. I tried putting air holes for breathing but they are still to hot. I found that using jean material works and last the longest. but you still have to put some kind of mini pad so it doesn't go through. The wetter they poop .

  • yes I do. I sew the lining and outer part together, then turn it right side out and sew across it and leave enough space and a tad extra for the elastic. Then I put a safety pin on the end of the elastic and feed it through. I then tack the one end and pull the elastic so there is a slight gather and tack on the other side. Then I sew the diaper together.

  • That was pretty funny daharja! I take it you watched the Matrix.

  • Yes I do. Phillip just loves it when I run my fingers through his neck feathers and play with his wattles. I hold him up to my face and wisper sweet nothings in to his ear and he just loves it.

  • As far as feather damage. Phillip has some thin spots from his cape. Suzie on the other hand never had any problems because she just wore the diaper. I did trim her butt feathers, because if they were to long they would get some poopies on them.

  • OMG And i thought i was the only one! I have had chickens since may of this year and i'm mad for them! I never knew how personal they are. Mine run around my house and i've been cleaning up poo every day. This is revolutionary! Can i pay you to make some for me!???? I have 6 chicks, 5 bantams and one very lovely sussex hen named princess grace. The others are pansy, rambeaux, lennon, dandelion and poppy!

  • Im a sewing noob, is there any chance you might consider trading some of these diapers? I'm bringing home a Silkie hen house-chicken this week. Finances are crap, but I can trade you some hand-made jewelry or online homepage design services if you might consider making her a couple diapers? Just wondering. :) Loved the video, they looked great and well put together, will try to tackle my own project but I'm lacking in the sewing skill department.

Lol, my face when I read the last sentence of your post xD never thought of using puppy pads.

  • Yes, ducks are very wet poopers trust me! Right now our ducks are in a dog kennel with a make-shift run made out of a ferret play pen and we have puppy pads down to TRY and absorb the mess they make... its such a hassle to try and keep their area clean. Their waste isn't too bad... its just when they play in their water and get it every where that everything becomes a mud bath.

  • I can't get over hot cute he is with his little cape!!!

  • shoulder as if under her mom in the soft feathers, safe and warm. She goes everywhere w/ me and has the master bath as her bed room w/ sky light and all... lol. Anyways I was showing my husband ur vids the other day and found Suz's funeral... I burst into tears, felt like a family member had passed. I had not put it together that she was no longer with us... I am so sorry and my heart goes out to you for such a hard loss of such a beautiful girl!! Love to hear from ya... pearl7552@gmail.com

  • Thank you for confirming that I am not the only person that loves my Booboo Chick-Hen as if she were a child of mine. I have watched you videos and enjoy seeing someone else love these beautiful little feathered friends like I do. I have only had Booboo since May 15, 2011 but she has brought so much joy. I actually removed her from her egg b/c she had been abandon by her mother who was tending to her 15 siblings. She instantly thought I was momma chicken and for 9 wks sleep in my hair on my...
