@RememberTheTime09 Also wanted to add they have a great body of work not just a few songs. They didn't have lots of hit records but that mostly goes back to promotion and business practices. I don't fault them or any artists for that at all. Pop success doesn't automatically = great and/or talent.

@amonshines I think the Sylvers are great in their own right! I think the fact they wrote most of their music when the others didn't/couldn't is a credit them. Also everyone of them is above average in the vocal department. They got alot of musicianship as well. They have such variety musically. Things that money can't buy, you can clearly buy success. Backing is a must and they just didn't have it.

sylvers come no where close to the jackson 5. they had a few good songs but they lacked the chemistry and talent that made jackson 5 what they were. perhaps if they had better song writers and motown records behind them they would have done better.The jacksons had a very committed record label, a very aggressive manager in their father who went all out to make them what they were. There are few elements that need to come together for a group to be what jackson 5 were.
