Oh no! Say it isn't so! Second fiddle to Rod fricken Stewart?

Jeff must've been a little drunk. He screwed up 'Night is day and twilight's gone away'. He started saying 'Twilight' and fumble an improv. He also screwed up 'That now is day and once was night' and then started the following line with 'Twilight' and more jarbled lyrics. Also, they cut out the "You brought me here but can you take me back again/BRIDGE" that comes prior to the last chorus.

I friggin LOVE this song. Lynne is a genius. God knows I wasn't a big fan back then, but I was the slow one.

@mbarsky @mikewall Heartbeat was 15th March 1986.I was studying out in Regensburg, and flew back from Munich just for the NEC concert - flight cost a bloody fortune, but was worth it for that legendary night.I actually thought that 60-min set was better than their concert performance on the Time tour, which I had seen at Wembley Arena on December 4th 1981.(God i wish i'd known that ELO were touring Germany in '86 = Queen and ELO etc in the same year was quite epic

quality album...but i guess you dont get it.

ELO should have kept with the strings a great sound ! TIME was the worst album they made and started the decline in record sales

Remembering one of my ELO-CONCERTs in the early 80ies in COLOGNE-will never forget!

Yeah it sounds like Jeff started celebrating just a weee bit early! LOL
-
Wonder if there is an official video of this concert tour. I'd pay ready money if there was.

Too much alcohol.
Incredible...I have heard the audio of this, but never the video. Listen to Jeff botch up the verses that Kelly used to sing live (on the Time tour)! Does anyone know if this came before or after the excellent Heartbeat 86 concert?

On my video-tape is written July, 12th 1986. I think the Heartbeat concert came later.
