PLEASE READ THIS!! This is NOT me! read on!

Derek's video. Since he is no longer on here I think it's time to share it with those who can benefit from it. Derek is no longer on YouTube. I cannot tell you how to contact him, please do not keep asking or I'll just lock the video down for comments.

It was widely circulated he pulled his videos due to stalkers, but after having had these up a while I think there could be other reasons. He invited people to talk to him if they have problems, and while I had these up people decided to talk to me since he wasn't available. The messages you get doing that are intense and in some situations were simply too much pressure to ask someone to handle. I don't mind talking to a kid struggling to come out or to find acceptance or seeking assurance that he will end up happy. But the problems and situations presented to me were so far beyond that and well beyond my ability to offer solutions. I hid the videos for about a year as result.

Derek knows this video is posted. I am fairly sure he watches YouTube but doesn't post. He is now 18 and probably in university, and finally out of his home and away from the difficult situation with his family.

One reason for uploading: in the next video Derek says one thing he doesn't want is to be forgotten. Well, we have not forgotten this guy!

His mom respected his request to not talk disparagingly and his father went to some therapy with him; I don't know how that turned out. But the key thing that's meaningful to me is that Derek certainly didn't let it hold him back . Derek became a very strong person and a wonderful role model for other teens (well, and older really), I'm sorry he was pressured to leave YouTube but have heard he's doing fine.

It's so obvious how much his situation with his parents is emotionally wrenching him inside and how alone he feels. I so wish I could tell him to tell his mom, when she says these cruel things to him like 'your such a fag', 'yeah well your such a fucking cunt for calling me a fag EVERY FUCKING DAY'. It's a tactic she's using-trying to bully and belittle the gay out of her son. The only recourse is to throw her tactic right back at her and don't relent until she does.

@darrenholcomb42 When he was here and I saw this as he was starting out, I inboxed him that what his mom was doing was emotional abuse. He eventually told her how he felt when she did it, and she stopped doing it; not that she becomae loving and accepting but at least she stopped the outright abuse. About a year later he made a vid in which he said he was so glad he was gay because otherwise he'd have grown up to be an asshole (like his parents).

@pizzaboy031 I have a different idea maybe why he quit, it prolly involved several things. One thing I found when I first posted these is that people started asking ME for help. And just talking to kids or w/e was fine but then some people were telling me horrible stories and asking me for help with things I could not possibly help with. After a while it got so bad I pulled the videos. I wonder if Derek wasn't just besieged with people making all kinds of demands and wanted to stop it.

Just finished watching and reading your comments. I'm sad that he had to go through that hell, but happy at least according to you that he has survived. I pray that he and those in similar sitituations find the love and acceptance we all need. Derek if you are reading this please accept my gratitude for having shared your story.
