Jean Darling sings "The Cinema Kiss" at a recital during "Le Giornate Del Cinema Muto" in Pordenone in October 2008 accompanied by Donald Sosin. This was part of a performance called "Serenading the Silents" featuring songs from 1900 to 1929 performed by Joanna Seaton, Jean Darling and Donald Sosin.

  • Well I might be just a little bit biased since I have the honour of being a friend of Jean's but she is simply the most wonderful person I have ever met. Despite her age and medical problems she still wrings every ounce of enjoyment that she can out of life. This gives an idea of the almost inexhaustible repertoire that she possesses. Jean started in silent movies and then moved into vaudeville. Her career since then has been incredible. A wonderful lady and a marvellous performance!

  • Great performance. Still a good and strong voice. And her acting is marvellous. This isn't only singing, this making a show! I had the pleasure singing 'Non ti scordar di me' with her last year at the 'Sons of the Desert' Convention in Holland. Unfortunately only 10 seconds of that were recorded.

  • Jean you are the still the greatest. You still got it babe and you look great too. I am proud to be your friend. Love ya.

  • Thanks for posting this performance of Jean. I too had the pleasure of listening to her tell stories at SONS of the Desert conventions. And talking with her between events. This is a treat to see an entertainer who has been performing for generations of fans.

  • Jean has always been a wonderful entertainer with nice range, and still looking good!

  • Jean is not only talented, she is a class act as a lady of grace and charm. She has entertained 1000's of people from the days as a child star, on through Broadway, and on to her own television show for children, amongst many other ventures, and she is one of the sweetest friends I have the pleasure and honor of knowing. KEEP KNOCKIN' 'EM DEAD, JEAN!" All love to you.
