Trading in RusHydro shares at London Stock Exchange was suspended, after a 13% drop in the share price. The station normally provides 25% of RusHydro output.

  • 1 turbine is about 2000 tonnes, belive me, it could.

  • It is not an explosion.

  • looks more like an explosion. all the info is from russian. you can't belive 100%. we all must remember chernobyl.then nobody for 2 weeks told in how deep shit we all were!

  • Too much damage for 1 failed turbine. Looks more like a massive water-hammer in one or more of the units. If the wicket gates slammed shut for some reason, the water hammer would pretty much destroy anything in the vicinity.

  • Looks like one of the turbines broke and all the water flooded into the powerhouse...

    It's must have been explosive, 640 MW's of power flying all over the place. With a 194 metre head that is 337.000 litres of water. Every second.
