looks more like an explosion. all the info is from russian. you can't belive 100%. we all must remember chernobyl.then nobody for 2 weeks told in how deep shit we all were!

Too much damage for 1 failed turbine. Looks more like a massive water-hammer in one or more of the units. If the wicket gates slammed shut for some reason, the water hammer would pretty much destroy anything in the vicinity.

Looks like one of the turbines broke and all the water flooded into the powerhouse...
It's must have been explosive, 640 MW's of power flying all over the place. With a 194 metre head that is 337.000 litres of water. Every second.
