@numetutelare Aveva il calendario bad timing a venire insieme in un momento in Callas e Sutherland sono state le grandi star del Bel Canto. Aveva timing stato diverso, avrebbe potuto essere una stella più grande di lei.

What year was this recorded? I think this is one of the best recordings I have heard of Moffo. She is in exquisite form here.

It's really hard to say when it was recorded. When I bought the album, this was the cover photo, but that was a reissue in the 70s. The original album cover looks to be early 60s, which would make sense for the freshness of the voice.

@ininacsot Ho solo fatto un esempio a campione. La Moffo é stata una delle tante fra le stupende voci del tempo. Non ho nulla di personale contro la Netbreko ma questa mania di farla assurgere a grande della lirica la racconta lunga sulla capacità critica di oggi. Ripeto era solo un esempio fra i tanti di quanto ci si accontenti di magnificare un soprano che sarebbe meglio collocata nelle operette di cui ha la verve ed sufficienti mezzi vocali... mentre la Moffo era un VERO soprano...

@numetutelare je pense avoir mal compris,que vient faire Netrebko dans ce que je viens d'entendre,mais Moffo(que je ne connais pas) est trés nettement superieure à Netrebko,il y en a cent entre les deux,non cette voix est superbe et je remercie sschimel pour cette video(surtout cette belle voix)

The cavatina with which she concludes this aria is the high point of the recording for me. Both the range and colorations of vocal tone achieved here by Moffo is truly remarkable!

@yodavidnavarro She was smoking! I remember as a 16 yr old in the early 60s buying a La Boheme highlights LP (included Richard Tucker) with her Mimi (LP was for my mom). I saw her picture on the front - bummer; thereafter I expected all divas to look like her!
