I am Second? God is 1st? Then who's 3rd, 4th etc?

The Scribes & Pharisees put God 1st (they thought), & themselves Second (but above the rest of men)

God [did not] say Be Ye Second

God has ONE doctrine of positions:

Matt 20:16 "the 1st shall be LAST, and the LAST shall be 1st" not 2nd, 3rd etc

Luke 14:11 "For everyone who exalts himself (among men) will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

"Do not be proud/puffed up among men either" Phil 2:3

2 Cor 13:5

1 Cor 11:28-32

Well said! Great point with solid Scriptural support. However, I think you may be over-reading the statement. "I am second." Period. It's not a ranking system. There's no 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. It's simply a declaration of perspective. Specifically stated, it's, "In all circumstances, I am second". It plays out as follows: "In my relationship with God, I am second", "In my relationship with my spouse, I am second", "In my friendships, ministry, workplace, etc...I am second!" It's Matt 22:36-40

@fusionffg I understand that's the Intended Transmission of the thing, but the collective Reception is more important, right? You understand that "Ministry/Ministers" outside of local congregation of the local churches, are Not for the "righteous"? This's what Jesus meant in "The righteous do not need it, but the Unrighteous" If ppl are already Right/Saved, why do they (if lead/walk by Spirit) need to hear "I'm Second"?

Therefore "Reception" to the LOST is most important Matt 9:13

@HTSS8 No doubt it is most important. I don't know that the collective reception of this message is different than its intent. And in the context of the "right/saved" aren't we to "encourage others by sound doctrine"? (Titus 1) This message is certainly a necessary daily reminder to me as I pursue Christ and interact with others. Not sure of your reference to "local congregation/church" and how it connects, but perhaps it would help to know these videos were made in/for a church youth group. :0)

HE's trying to reveal Oversight/Error. The Scripture is screaming loud against "2nd" You can't find 1 single teaching Relationship to Christ involves only 2. It doesn't teach it, b/c He knew (ppl certainly doing now), do not Corp Worship, sayin "it's just me/Him"

@HTSS8 ok, i did not quite get all that you were saying, because it was kind of scrambled. All that im saying is that, in your walk with Christ, there is only You and God, and there is only one thrown. "I am second" means that God is on the thrown in your life not you. There is no 3rd 4th 5th....... because there is only you and God, and none other.

So we are living for God and his kingdom, placing Him ahead of you. Making him first.

@tspragg1 Ok :) one last try, this route; God's own "greatest commandment" & large of [10] refers multiple beings in the "relating" to Him.

1) Based your premise--here say it's Christ/You2nd, before was just Spouse..etc/You2nd (where's Christ at that time?)--How does He know one is putting Him1st? :)

It's how treat others(all Scriptures given before & More)

@HTSS8 well said dude, but i agree whole heartedly. But the phrase i am second os referring to your walk with Christ. And in that relationship there is You and the LORD, and no one else. So, the phrase "I am second" is meaning to put God on the thrown and not yourself, and to have your life pointing towards him.

Great thought though, your completely right in the sense that you are speaking of.

Philippines 2:3 says" ..let each esteem other better than themselves". so we are dead last

@fusionffg It's still really Simple. Placing [any] place besides what the Bible has alluded to, is deviating from the "narrow path" :) Doctrinal Soundness is exactly what 95% of everyone one the planet is ignorant of. lol

:) on the subject of Self to Others, God's "Doctrine" is simply 1st & Last.

Again refer to; Scribes & Pharisees, Perfect example that even in the religious sect of humanity, men may try to put God 1st, ME 2nd, rest of Body of Christ behind.
