Stone hits theaters on October 8th, 2010.

Cast: Robert De Niro, Edward Norton, Milla Jovovich, Frances Conroy, Enver Gjokaj, Liam Ferguson, Pepper Binkley

Academy Award winner Robert De Niro and Oscar nominee Edward Norton deliver powerful performances as a seasoned corrections official and a scheming inmate whose lives become dangerously intertwined in Stone, a thought-provoking drama directed by John Curran (The Painted Veil, We Don't Live Here Anymore) and written by Angus McLachlan (Junebug).

As parole officer Jack Mabry (De Niro) counts the days toward a quiet retirement, he is asked to review the case of Gerald "Stone" Creeson (Norton), in prison for covering up the murder of his grandparents with a fire. Now eligible for early release, Stone needs to convince Jack he has reformed, but his attempts to influence the older man's decision have profound and unexpected effects on them both. Stone skillfully weaves together the parallel journeys of two men grappling with dark impulses, as the line between lawman and lawbreaker becomes precariously thin.

The film's superb ensemble features Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element) as Lucetta, Stone's sexy, casually amoral wife, and Golden Globe winner Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under) as Madylyn, Jack's devout, long-suffering spouse. Set against the quiet desperation of an economically ravaged community and the stifling brutality of a maximum security prison, this tale of passion, betrayal and corruption examines the fractured lives of two volatile men breaking from their troubled pasts to face uncertain futures.

  • I hate the way norton talks in this its funny tho

  • This is the best fucking movie i ever seen stop hating on it!

  • worst movie i have ever seen in my whole life.

  • The Trailer is misleading, the film is about loss of "god"(Di Niro) and spiritual awaking (Norton), the only problem I had with the film was the second fire. Stone, Jack's wife, or the burning bush? Any one else see this picture the way I did?

  • @Maniak5100 I think this trailer was misleading, The movie was about loss of "god" & spiritual awaking. I thought the principle behind the Zukangor (Eckankar) might have had its roots meditation & in new age "religion". I liked the movie, It felt like a real life journey. The trailer only deals with the superficial aspects of the flick. It drew in the wrong crowd.

  • This movie is a complete waste of time and I cant believe that three good actors wasted their talents on this movie. They must of figured "Oh well their paying me big and it requires little work so I will do it."

I couldnt possibly see how this movie even got made because its so bad and boring.

  • Just watched this on home-vid CD rental -- Have to say, NOT among the 100 best films ever, not even something I'll care to rewatch in a coupla years; Mostly a time-waster IMHO, Deniro's character was flat and unconvincing, Norton's was more authentic but I HATED the seamy white-con gravelly-scratched voice, VERY genuinely the wayfaring sociopathic scammer. Take it or leave it, left me unsatisfied.

  • @OfficialNcFx basically, stone became a better person. while his girlfriend still "preys" on men. well.... to be honest, the ending is hard to get lol... >.< GREAT movie nontheless

  • @OfficialNcFx

This is about your comment on the movie Stone.

Zukangor, is actually Eckankar in real life.

The meditation he does, the HU...it is a real life mantra with a long history. You can do it yourself 20mins a day and you'll get the meaning of the movie soon enough in a way you can't imagine. If this is an interest to you and you'd like a very good explanation of the HU mantra...send me a private message, I have a thing here I can send you about it.

  • I've just watched this movie... Can anyone explain me the end? I just don't get it.
