We've changed our classroom around this year to accommodate some of the changes in the program itself. (1) A larger instructional area to seat an entire grade level of ESL students. This area also includes the student supply station. (2) A more compact computer station. (3) A cultural library / small group meeting area. (4) A distinct teacher section (our desks, data, supplies) to promote frequent interaction and collaboration.

  • Wow!!! this video is exactly what i was looking for. I congratulate you for showing this wonderful school you have. I am an ESL teacher in Chiapas Mexico. I am starting my tiny English school and I am really eager to learn as much as possible. Thanks a lot!

Our classroom has definitely morphed since posting this video at the beginning of the year. The word walls are filling up; the Cognates Cupboard has space for only a couple more, and more student work is displayed all over the classroom!

Have you taught English to non-English speakers before? It's such a rewarding and frustrating experience! I'm sure you'll love it! If you ever want to talk ESL, I'm a willing participant! :)
