China Documentary " SanHua" about cat meat Part 1

As living standards have risen, sections of the Chinese populace have become more picky about what should be determined as food. And of the animals hovering in the pet/food debate.

"San Hua" by amateur filmmaker Guo Ke, is the first of its kind - a full documentary on the country's cat meat industry. It follows the entire trade, from cat snatchers in Shanghai and to the restaurants of Guangzhou. It premiered in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou at the end of July 2010 , with an aim to "let more people know the truth - to spread the news as far as possible."Guo Ke photographic film director said, "If the entire material degree holders is all bloody, and ultimately into the film, it will be only 60% of entire audience will come . We do not want to promote violence and cruelty, our only purpose is to restore the most authentic chain about eat cats. "chain in the eat cats behind, it is the Food Safety Act and the Animal Protection Act of embarrassment. .And the truth is... Well, that people in Guangzhou eat cats because it's "delicious" and they never kept them as pets when they were kids. And frankly, the only "food safety" grounds people have brought up are the tenuous connection between Civet cats and SARS - which not only wasn't completely proven, but also is just scientifically misguided to begin with. Civets are from an entirely different family classification from domestic cats - it'd be like comparing cows to camels.

@shatomea part of the reason these people are so outraged at this industry is because they are STEALING house cats, if you were watching carefully, they said some of those cats have collars and tags on them, and they wanted their cats back. Its a dirty buisness, espicially in china due to over population. Most animals that are bred in factory farms for food die from disease, infection, etc. so its not really "good" meat you're eating anyways.

u know it tears me into pieces watching or seeing these lovely, charming, wonderful cats or dogs getting abused or being eaten :(

@maggiexmassacre tell me about it, how you can keep up with 1.3B people eatting almost everyday. I came from China, believe me other than very high standard restaurant i wouldn't really dare to eat. Those animals are chemically redesigned or even veges are redesigned. Some oil they use are dirty underground . so scary.

if anyone stole my cat to be used as "meat", i'd hunt them down and kill them, i am not kidding either, most of those cats are house hold pets and thus easier to handle and lure into cages because of their trust in humans.

with all the other sources of food available eating other peoples pets is repulsive, inhumane and criminal.

there is absolutly zero excuse for treating animals in this manner, the cat/dog meat traders are murderers and should be hung for what they're doing.

An animal is treated as food (prey) by other animals.

This is the nature all animals are doing.

Humans themselves define and classify animal categories for food and some for pets with their own views in humanity, morality, cruelty, culture, interests, and religions.

Why do not go to rescue other food animals except dogs and cats? Simply because they love and care about them and choose them as pets. What the hypocritcal humans to protect animals from animal abuses, tortures and killings
