@trumpetchump largest population of japanese outside of japans is in brazil. don't act all cocky if you don't know what you're talking about. Just cuz it "looks" like there's a lot doesn't mean there actually is compared to other places.

Why on earth would any experts on Japanese anything be on the East Coast, let alone New York. California has the largest population of Japanese outside of Japan, followed by Hawaii.
And in my slanted opinion, the ramen we have here in L.A. and S.F. (cant vouch for Hawaii) are just as good as in Japan. I am talkin' the REAL ramen spots (Gardena, Torrance) not those poser trendy beach city and hollywood spots.
So stab that in the eye with a chopstick.
New York???? Give me a break.
