The kit lens is not even a Japan Zeiss or Minolta G (aka Sony G) lens.
On all videos they never parked the flash and vertical grip or tripod and view the camera from the front. Why? You CAN NOT see the screen, so that is useless by not placing the screen on the side.
Wake up, Sony!
Please talk to Minolta photos/engineers that you have got on board to make a real beginner camera.
Cutting corners.
No tethered shooting, but said this is a replacement for the beginner A700.

first
Screen is useless for viewing from front of camera when you have a flash and a tripod/vertical grip on camera.
This darn camera CAN NOT do tethered.
For over $3,000.00 and has very limited lenses fast lenses is really high for beginners to start out.
$3K USD = body + lens + 58 flash + vertical grip + card and no driver.
This camera is useless for shooting external flash or for studio.
Great for mom & kids shooting in the parks
The A700 can do tethered.
I've just tested this out last week.

These guys just do these demos for us...but we never really know if they're good til we do our review.
We didn't think that this camera was great for "beginners" either :) Thanks!
