  • My father flew the Il-28 in the RoAF...

This plane flied from 1959 to 2001,40 years of service for Romania, such a great plane.

  • @OpelGTC

    Yes it is.

In the beginning of his career,he was fastest bomber in the world.

Aircrafts like Mig-15,F-86 etc. have big trouble when they want to catch him.

Becouse they have Speeds very simmilar to IL-28 Beagle.

So they need to plan best Trajectory if they want to Intercept it,

but then they need to Deal with Rear Gun Turret :)

  • great video!! dude keep good work men!

  • Wow! she's a sexy plane ^_^

  • Even as an american, if i could have any any plane in the world, it'd be one of these :D

This or a Tu-22. But if could have either, definitely an IL-28 :D

  • +1 for Hans Zimmer music :-)

  • @odzadze123 Very cool and great music, Ilyushin made many great aircraft. I wouldn't want to get too close to those 23mm guns, which are basically anti-tank guns =) Sad too see the aircraft that are rotting in the desert, should be in a museum being appreciated.

  • is that rutger hauer @ 10:09??

  • In Soviet Russia planes fly you !

  • @Honaseq5344

Thanks for the answer. Incidentally, do you know what altitude they reached exactly?

Anyway it must have been quite a drop: the Il-28's service ceiling was more than 12'000 m (40'000 ft), and for record purposes I guess they could exceed this.

  • Russian Canberra Bomber

  • @superschpalek, @chemiker :

it was for czechoslovakian record of altitude for paratroopers. Il 28 (his bombay) was big enough for three paratroopers with their equipment.

  • @SuperSchpalek

Yes I noticed the Chechoslovak markings in the opening footage, which is obviously about some strange scheme to drop parachutists from the aircraft's bomb bays. Spies? Infiltrators? Ordinary Paratroopers? Contingency plan to rescue crews?
