Live improvisation #1 with Jazzmutant Lemur for iPad.

An experiment with the jazzmutant Lemur iPad app. The Lemur is controlling Ableton live's Operator synth, playing a patch i created. I'm using Mat's Scalomat preset for the Lemur, which i modified to add a slider for cutoff, portamento time and a control for resonance.

Tedroning 'loop sound was several tracks of my Minikorg 700 synth from '74, looped in ableton's looper plugin, the bass sound was the Korg MS-20, and the drums were Oberheim DMX.

Sounded good. It's cool that the lemur has become more affordable now and people who had creativity and musical taste but didn't have the money then can now afford it. I'm considering picking up an ipad for this and other apps(plus checking my email). How do you find lemur? Do you use touchAble?

@ChromeGhost I highly recommend it! i have an old iPad 1 and it's plenty powerful enough for Lemur, Touchable, etc. i like touchable a lot, but these days i'm trying to use the APC-40 and ipad running lemur side-by-side. i almost think it's time to get a second ipad! too many fun music apps to have just one...

@zerozeroisland If you already have iPad 1 then what for iPad3. Then you can have two iPads :-p

@ChromeGhost I'd definitely like to pick up the newer ipad when it comes out because, naturally the displays keep getting better and the processors keep getting faster! but for midi control i can see being able to use this ipad 1 of mine for a long time before it becomes 'obsolete'
