Recap of THE TEN: An Alternative Shavuot Experience

Shavuot, a holiday that often times falls by the wayside, marks the receiving of the Ten Commandments and is traditionally celebrated by studying text throughout the night. Sixth & I took this concept and turned it on its head, transforming the synagogue into an intellectual three-ring circus to titillate the mind and invoke the senses.

Hundreds of participants swarmed from room to room, balancing through ten yoga poses, sampling delicious cheesecake bites and Sixth & Is signature Shavuotinis, all while learning about everything from Jewish ethics to how to be more green. Highlights also included an engaging conversation with Jonathan Safran Foer, acclaimed author of Everything is Illuminated, and a concert with rising musical sensation, Girls in Trouble.
