@Nexar41834 Thats awesome been to knott county , i lived in laurel county and pulaski as well for about 8 months, florida is my home its where i grew up,but i love the singing cooks, my husband and his family are from pike county his uncle Marlow Tackett is a singer as well you can find him on youtube, he (marlow) also sold a song to the cooks "banks of the river" he also had marlows country palace, its closed now though.

this song holds a special place in my heart in 1999 HBO did a documentry on my family in eastern kentucky called american hollow, during the final days before it was released my mamaw passed away and my cousin oneil played the guitar as this song was sang, he is also featured singing it in AMERICAN HOLLOW, Thank you for posting this.
