The first unit of India's largest thermal power plant will be partially up and running by May 20th. The Mundra power plant is ready to generate 330 megawatts out of a more than four thousand megawatt capacity. The company has already signed Power Purchase Agreements with the Gujarat government. The project will also give power to the Indian states of Maharashtra, Haryana and Rajasthan at later dates. At least 10,000 workers are employed at the site. 10 percent are Chinese. It'll be completed by the end of 2012.
