Very good. Have tried to play this myself. Excellent cover.

@dtimm612 Thank you for your information. The Nord only has one set of drawbar simulators, but when using the split function the upper half ( above middle C ) and the lower half can be set individually. OR....a second keyboard midied to the Nord becomes the lower keyboard and the Nord keyboard is the upper. I'll try your settings.

Is there anywhere that I might find the drawbar registration settings for this song? I sold my B3 back in the 70's ( bad back and I couldn't haul it any more). Now I have a Nord Electro 2...not the same, but pretty good sound form what I use it for.

@Keyboardman88 As per how Gregg played it, check out the Evil Ways Woodstock vid on youtube to see close-ups of his registrations. They are: upper A# 888800088, B 880000000 (start of solo, then gradually pull more starting with first white drawbar); lower A# 004000000; Chorus C1 on for both manuals; Percussion all 4 up (On, Soft, Fast, 3rd Harmonic)

cool technique...however, you should get somebody to replace the felt strips under the keys because they are very noisy and are very audible on the track, that is a disaster on recordings. It's cheap and easy to do if you know how to disassemble the keyboards.

I know I need that done, those felts are rock hard! At least the black key felts are still good though. Just have to find the time to do it

Hey man, kick-awesome sweeps up and down the keys. Do those officially have a name?
chrisrave 2 years ago
The sweep is called a Glissando, a few other common organ techniques are palm smears/hand percussions
