@hez1919 Thinking out of the box is fine, but if you don't have sufficient proof for your theories than it's just talk. You say there were advanced civilizations. I say prove it, you can't. I can't prove they didn't exist either. So we're left with the question, what is more probable? That these advanced civs existed and left no obvious evidence of their existence or that they never existed at all? and Herz, there's no need to insult me or blame me for societies ills...lol..this isn't personal.

Plato was describing and quite correctly the demise of his own civilization who were predominant at the time. Remember they had conquered the Egyptians, the Babylonians had gone and he came up with a parable. He made sure it was a place that was beyond their adventures somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. That is all. Atlantis was a myth, a warning, that is it. All those who have an interest, have a book to sell. As mentioned at the outset.

I think that what Plato was describing can be found on the west coast of Europe and Africa including Briton,these where the original gardens or ghettos,gated communities with moats around the out side,the moats were to keep rodents and other vermin out including larger toothed predators.and I believe that Plato named places that have similar names today.some of these names are still used in the English language.the languages have changed but the phonetics have stayed the same.

The more we investigate, the more knowledge we gain, but on aftereffect, as deeper we investigate the uncovered mysteries of the earth and universe the dangerous one's life could become. a real Danger could be impose on one's life to change and hide to the outside world and live it with one's self forever. Knowledge that should be kept forever as we continue researching, we tend to keep it to ourselves to not cause such dangers could immerse on the whole people of the world.
