MoDaCo 1.5.1 FULL Review!!! Prepare yourself...

You should already have the latest radio and SPL. If not. Get it here: http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/

IMPORTANT!!!! THERE IS NOOT BOOT SCREEN so if you are installing for the first time, there will be a black screen for 5-10 minutes. Maybe longer. GIVE IT TIME. The homescreen WILL pop up. =)

Just passing on info I learned from spending lots of time in the XDA forums...

Been stirring up a beehive over there in the XDA forums trying to tell people having problems with JAC or Drizzy's stuff that don't know how to edit user.conf's and whatnot.

So I took a break from Hero and JAC since 1.5r2 was a disaster and Drizzy wasn't coming out with any new releases...
But I came back because of JAC 1.8
Had a lot of people telling me about MODACO so I gave it a whirl only problem, I "upgraded" it (BAD)
Tried Drizzy's newest (BAD)
Then someone told me on XDA in JAC's or Drizzy's thread that I messed up by upgrading MoDac. GREAT ADVICE.
So took that advice and here I am. =)

Leave comments of POSITIVE stuff or if it worked out for ya. =)
If it didn't work. Leave me a message and TRY TRY TRY to use proper english/grammar and spell check.
I say this cuz I may not be able to help otherwise =/

When flashing these new builds WIPE EVERYTHING and don't use backup/restore apps or utilities (if notice problems or forcecloses after doing so)
Its not the ROM. Its the user. =p

So here's my Modaco 1.5.1 FULL Rom Review for your viewing pleasure...
***MODACO***
THERE IS NO BOOT SCREEN!!! BUT CAN BE EASILY FIXED

What I LIKE:
SUPER RESPONSIVE Rosie. It uses less memory so its quick and small.
(which means less load screens but accidental clicks? VERY minimal on MoDaCo)
BEEN SWIPIN' NON STOP! LOL
Flip clock doesn't flip (but saves memory which is good)
Haven't noticed widget loading but could mean no more HIGH priority for Rosie?
Notifications while listening to music doesn't cut out music. NICE.
Apps are quick to launch/open!
CHOMP works with auto correct!!! =D
SMS 50/50 =)

What I DON"T LIKE:
No more Prioritized apps? BUT was it worth it? Makes APPS TAKE FOREVER TO LOAD
Phone/ring delay when answering calls but easy fix: Press physical phone BUTTON when picking up or denying calls. MUCH FASTER. =)
NO bluetooth (Not on any Hero)
FORCE CLOSE when using search in PhoneBook (Bug found in ALL Hero ROMs)
Rosie/Homescreen force close when opening keyboard (ALL Hero ROMs)
Volume is stock (quieter than JAC 1.8 beyond) CAN BE FIXED =)

Additional things:
Overclock is bad for this ROM. Slows it down and makes it stutter.... Kinda weird. =/
Advance Task Manager Pro a MUST for ALL Hero ROM's. Get it.

EmoGamer this is a really Important question! i know a lot of people are wondering the same thing so here's the question "Do you have to use the new SPL in order to flash the new htc hero roms??" i heard that the new SPL has a big percentage that could brick you G1

Yep! You sure do!

Flashing your radio and spl is NECESSARY and SOOOOOO easy.

But yes, it is how 99% of people brick their phones... only cuz they do something crazy. Its EASY!

Flash radio, reboot.

Flash spl, reboot.

DONE

Don't ask me why so many people mess this up... LOL
