@bcgabriot American Idol? William DuVall is about how old Layne would have been, had he smartened up and quit his addiction. DuVall has just as much experience, too. He's a good friend of the band and who the HELL are you to question that? Shit.

I think Duvall's great actually. But the thing is that he gets compared to Layne Staley. One of the greatest and most original rock vocalists of all time. And compared to that guy, everybody's bad.

I really like Duvall, kinda feel bad for the guy cos he can't win with most fans. He does his own thing vocally while trying to do the old songs justice, and he gets shit for it. Whereas if he tried to sound exactly like Layne, people would call him a rip-off.

I´m bass player, and I want to say that another thing wich is not respected in relation to the original version is the fact that Starr played it with finger (not pick), and Inez, at least in this video, is playing with pick. Maybe this could seens like a nonsense, but really makes feel the son in a way very different from the original. Thanks, great AIC 4ever !

I really like the new AIC cd but i dont like the Way Duvall Signs the Classic stuff, i mean i think he just cant sing this song i think he cant sing we die down young he cant sing down in a hole in the way Layne used to do it
i dont think any other vocalist can they should just play the new stuff and just let the classic songs Off
i consider this more a cover than AIC actually playing

I've tried to like Duvall, I really have, but every time I hear him sing original AiC songs I just hate it. To me, growing up with Layne fronting the band, it's like these songs were only meant for his voice and conviction. Layne could belt this shit out even when he was strung out. This will definitely be the last thing I listen to of the Duvall fronted AiC. It just doesn't feel right to me.

So fucking sick and tired of the Duvall Praise. They couldn't have picked a worse front man to replace Layne. This dude belongs on american idol, not the frontman of AIC.
That being said he did do a great job with this particular song. Most of the other songs he's just simply not doing AIC justice however.
