Mutation of the gene for PGRN causes Fronto-Temporal Lobar Degeneration but the mechanistic link between reduced PRGN levels and neurodegeneration is unknown. In this video abstract, Steve Strittmatter and colleagues discuss their findings that sortilin-mediated endocytosis of PGRN can contribute to disease pathology. Read more in Hu et al., Neuron 68(4).
