Highly portable music making!
The Risa Uke-Solid electric ukuleles work extremely well through most amplifiers, but are also very quiet acoustically, so they are great for practice. They are beautifully made, incredibly compact and very robust professional instruments. The one here is the small Soprano size, with a somewhat larger tenor also being available.
The Skytronic micro amp also has a headphone socket for silent practice, and runs on battery or mains power, which requires a readily available mains adapter. The Skytronic amp is inexpensive, robust and very compact, so it can be taken almost anywhere. Mine is on a table at left of the picture.
This rough demo video features extracts from 2 of my compositions, a lively Greek-style tune in 5/4, then a gentler tune, selected to give a vague idea of what can be achieved with such amazingly compact equipment.
The Risa Uke-Solid Soprano and Skytronic amp allow me to play, write and practice music wherever I go, without disturbing anyone near me, and they fit into a small shoulder bag.
Also most ukes and strings are intended for "re-entrant" gCEA tuning, with the G being one octave higher. You can easily get sets of "Non Re-entrant: strings with a much thicker G string, often these are metal-wound, and these will produce the low G nicely.

Normally Risas have a low action. What model is it. acoustic, electric? Did you buy it new? It might have got warped, perhaps being placed on a radiator or by a sunlit window, or it might need to have its saddle/nut lowered. A good luthier or repairer at a music shop should be able to set it up nicely for you.

Oops sorry, it IS the Soprano model, I also have the Tenor which I actually use more often, so I assumed it was on this demo. The tunes are my own compositions, and full versions are on my CDs

@SalPedi Many thanks! The ukulele is made by the German company RISA (named after its founder Rigk Sauer). It is their "Solid Tenor" model, a little bigger than the more normal Soprano size. It has a Piezo pick up under the bridge. It is incredibly portable and almost silent when played acoustically so I can practice anywhere without disturbing anyone, but plugged into an amp you can get any sound and effects pedal you like. RISA make Acoustic and semi-acoustic models too.
