What up yo, so last week I went to fill up my car at the gas station and I started thinking about a lot of random stuff. Well, when I got home, I wrote this song haha. The instrumental, Tobacco Road, is produced by a guy named Sabzi who is the DJ for both Common Market and Blue Scholars. If you dont know who they are then go listen to a couple songs, it's hip hop at its best. This is also my first real "video" so I'm still figuring out the best way to record and what not but for now this is what I got. Thanks. Don't forget to hit that yellow button up above and join the movement. Much love, stay up world.
Lyrics:
I pulled up, 94 4 runner, first fill for my summer,
Under, the wonder of whether why we pay for a number,
And why we robbed for a price of another,
Why we lie for a dollar plunder.
Market an economy that never suffers,
Hunger in ecology, remember why they follow me,
Complacent is a lot to be, and I aint ready honestly,
Cuz I got too much pain already here to bother me.
Mama told me what I shouldnt be, another me,
Came around and ate my celery, my salary, is over malady,
A melody, remember me? These watermelon mountains and
sunset are what meshed to make me,
Another week gone by, my voice fly round rhymes, understand the undermine, we underline the moment otherwise we mighta lost the other side, waitin for the moat to dry, another lie, so lemme stop, ask why?
We the people ignore, so why should power reform, I say we need a little more than just capital goals, remove the pompadour chores, we try and save our own homes, and ima own the quota earned, stock the stake in return,
Inner city run alone, education at the short end, so why you upset that kids find hope in rap and, no home for math and no ones funds here are adequate and, I aint followin with local services
Everyday another day to run away from sunny rays, and I say the eye sight is progress in one sense, we take the i-25, the big eye splits the mind of my heart, I spit the fire apart,
Ayo it proly is me, reminiscent of my memory, the feeling that I never see, the hearing I ain't never eat, so why am I the only one on route 66, a route I never followed and now I'm here to save the rest of it?
My hearts at rest, I love what's already dead, hip hop and old friends, and so if life is like a race, then I will see you at the end, you could catch me at the timberlake, swimmin at the riverlake, I think I found the Watergate.
Snap back, I squeeze a dollar o eight, screw the cap in it's place, a man walks outta the store to burn some nicotine, i wonder where he really wants to be, take a breath and I say. Damn, what a day.

Been watching this one a couple of times, and I have to ask you:
Is the tune a rip off, or are you the author? I love it, maybe you'll release an instrumental sometime?
