Another brilliant production that came from the same session as "I ain't gonna tell nobody" and "Buddy's Habbits"

  • Great to listen to the trombone of Honore Dutrey and the magic of Johnny Dodds clarinet playing is quite stunning. Lil Hardin and the other members are superb too, of course. Jazz stalwarts without question.

Thank you for sharing this gem from 1923.

  • @Corrie121 It's no problem at all, I am glad you liked it :)

  • Baby Dodds .yeah....Listen to him play the swanee slide whistle on 'sobbing blues'.

  • Magnífica grabación, muchas gracias por compartirla.

  • Here's something to not for you early hounds. In the second chorus, when Armstrong starts his series of two-bars in stop-time, right before the half, he plays a sequence which he used again, verbatim, in Potato Head Blues, about 5 years later.

  • Don't forget Louis and Baby Dodds, Corrie! :)

  • Could anybody please give me the transcription of this great tune? I can't find it nowhere!

  • im lefty... so ill put my left arm!

  • My very favourite of the Creole Jazz Band. I would give my right arm to be able to hear them in the flesh as they really sounded
