ANTONIO MACHIN and Don Azpiazu Havana Casino Orchestra invaded the US in the 1930 with the Cuban music. Here you will see this historical orchestra of the 1930 playing their most famous song and the famous ANTONIO MACHIN as the main singer. SIBONEY was composed by Ernesto Lecuona. Many people don’t know that Don Azpiazu was the first to bring the Cuban music not only to the USA, but, also through Europe. We found this historical footage and bring it to our audience. Enjoy these two historical giant of the 1930’s. We need to honor these giant that open the doors to the rest of the orchestra that came to this country from Cuba. Don Azpiazu was born in Cuba in 1893 and died in 1943. He led the formation of the many rumba bands.

tiene rason ellos fueron los primero en llevar nuestra musica cubana ha new yorklos Estados unidos y europa,despues fueron llegando mas cubanos como mario bauza,machito chano pozo,arnaz,de todas estas gente aprendieron estos muchacho decendiente de puertoriquenos y de otra nacionalidad nacido en new york, que mas tarde en los 70 le pusieran salsa pero todo esta musica es 100 % cubana

I followed Antonio Machins singing in Spain in the early 60's and further until he passed away. He continued with beautiful music ex. Angelitos Negros, Dos Gardenias etc. Muchas gracias por darme la posibilidad de escuchar ésta version original ta bonita!

To my mind, this is one of the greatest songs to come out of this region and this era. I first heard it over 50 years ago on a recording by the great operatic tenor, James Melton. It is one of those songs that will be popular in 2029, just as it was in 1929.
