Obviously you've never been in a place like a college campus overrun with non-migratory geese who mate and nest there. Geese nest on the roof, and thus have mates patrolling the area [attacking anybody who tries to get into said building], and in the worst cases nest right in front of/next to the building entrances, pretty much forcing you to walk close to their nest [and getting honked at at best, attacked at worst].

if i had my child with me and that old hag is shooting at the geese i would have pushed him into the pond not for the sake of the geese but the people who are walking
