I vividly remembered that we were having class in sch when the teachers start saying "pack your bags, early dismissal, go home now!" In every corner of Suva, Fiji is was crowded with people as all were trying to reach for higher grounds, warning was issued by DISMAC Fiji in case of a tsunami caused by the eruption in Tonga. That preparation tested how fast the govt of fiji and DISMAC responds to natural disaster. It was a chaos. Now they are prepared and have a plan they can follow into.

im i think there is no waves coz the underwater volcano is not deep enough, and the tsunami waves wouldnt be that big close to the explotion. just like thailand cathastrophy, none of the fisherman noticed anything until they went back to the coast
