Cruel Oxen Race: Chieuti, Italy

A cruel oxcart race takes place in Chieuti, Italy every April 22nd. The Oxen are driven for 3 miles with spiked lances. Oxen collapse, have blooded noses, and some horses are injured. The event is blessed by the local priest.

Horrifying torture of horses and ox. FFS we live in the 21st century and still such barbaric festivals. Such animal cruelty should be banned immediately. Italy and their lack of animal welfare is a disgrace to EU
