How to lap a barrel. For better accuracy and easier barrel cleaning.

  • It work good on rifle'. You will notist it more on A rifle. I do it on all my guns.

  • You're not supposed to lap a barrel that has been crowned and chambered. It will excessively wear the throat and muzzle end causing a decrease in accuracy.

  • i think you are destroying the groove an the diameter of that barrel lapping is good only before rifling...

  • @JonJon95GT DOH! Watched it again. You said it was an LCP.

  • Would thisbe a way to "break down" some of the rust in a Yugo M48 Mauser bbl? Its pretty dark (from shooting corrosive ammo then not cleaning properly?) and while the lands are fairly smooth from shooting and cleaning, there seems to be more roughness from rust in the grooves.

    Also, how much do you expect this process to increase the bore diameter on the lands, and in the grooves?

    Any advice appreciated.

  • Interesting ...... I dont suppose that it would work with a rifle barrel too ???
