World's fastest yacht?

The Volvo Ocean Race which begins this weekend will see the fastest yachts in the world compete against each other around the globe. And theres every chance new speed records will be set, with Team Russias boat Kosatka tipped to be the fastest of them all.

Not less surface area, but narrow hulls with great resistance to heeling, which means the sail's force goes into speed.

how can anyone put a mono as the fastest??, as skycaptain says more hulls are farster , longer waterlines with less surface area

Maybe the fastest monohull, but as far as yachts go racing tris and cats are faster.

tri's are, cus they dont carry the extra weight of the keel which also alows em to stay more upright under heavier winds. (ya?
