Crackfiend and the crew spend a little time asking Daigo some questions about the game. Sorry about the audio quality- it was loud as hell in there! Check the transcript below.
http://www.iplaywinner.com Transcript: 1st Question from Anthony: How does the competition in Japan compare to the United States? [Shino Translation: The venue is definitely bigger in the states, but in number, though I dont know the size of this event, I think you see more people at events like this one in Japan. What I really like about in the US is though the fans know how to create an exciting atmosphere for the players. ] [Oichi Translation: he said that the is US strong but Japan has more players and US get more riled up for events like this and said it's good that they get that way] Daigo/Shino: There are more competitors in the USA but more "number 1's" gather in Japan... (?).. and he hopes to see more people later on.. there are more fans that gather here and gives them the opportunity to do their best. [iPlayWinner Notes: Seems he doesnt really know about the competition in the USA yet but likes the fact that there are so many fans and people looking to play it so it will help people get better.] 2nd Question: Richard Li: Who is your biggest threat in Japan and who is your biggest threat in the USA? Shiuno: In this game? Richard Li: Yes Street Fighter 4. Daigo: Dosent know the big players in USA so has no answer, but dosent know who his main threat is in Japan either. [Oichi Translation: I know the rival question he says he doesn't know for overseas, and Japan he's like "...I don't really know who, that's tough to say" it's kinda like he's saying there's too many to name one person] Richard Li: What about Iyo? Daigo: Haha sure. Haunts Question: Whats the number one thing you can do to get better in Street Fighter? Shino: Thats a difficult question! Shino: Is there a grappling system? Richard Li: Oh throwing! Daigo/Shino: He doesnt like that system and the trick, but its very important so if you can nail that you will do well in this game. Haunts: So throwing is the best thing you can learn, ok! [Oichi Translation: for the throwing system it seems that he is talking not only about throwing itself but throw escaping as well i.e. knowing when to escape, how to do option select, etc.] [Shino Notes: Throwing is referred to as the grappling system in Japan. Daigo thinks it works against the beauty of fighting games and dislikes it What does he mean? Stay tuned for more on Capcom Unity...?] Anthony Question 4: Why did you come back to play Street Fighter 4? Daigo/Shino: As you know he has stayed away from fighting games for a while, but he decided to come back because its the latest title from CAPCOM, fighting game from CAPCOM, the games CAPCOM is known for. He wanted to see how it worked for him and it works well for him so he continues to play it becuase he enjoys it!

  • Street fighter is a Japanese game where all the major tourneys are in Japan.

If anything Americans should learn Japanese if they are serious about being professionals.

    PERFECTO I LIKE. I LIKE YOU U 2 <3

  • Everyone knows tick throws are garbage.. and when Daigo says it, it kinda confirms it.

  • Wow, Daigo has aged since this interview.

  • @radelta I regret to inform you that your attempt at being ingratiatingly subservient to Japanese customs will not particularly net you any more respect than if you weren't a Japanophile; you're an outsider to a very homogenous and xenophobic society. Also, Kanji is written Japanese and Osakan dialect is tantamount to having a southern drawl in Tokyo. If Japanese could read your comment(s), they'd laugh at you. Maybe just not to your face if they knew you could understand them.

  • @BentoBox I don't think he necessarily means a "trick" to throwing, but how the throwing system's timing works and how integral it is to being a solid player. If you can't defend against throws, any character can beat you, so mastering throws in SFIV is an important part to being a strong SFIV player.

However this is just an opinion, I don't speak japanese fluently, and could barely hear Daigo's words to begin with even if I did.

  • "why did you come back to play street fighter 4?"

daigo thinking" so i can srk-fadc-metsu all your asses

  • I hope one day to be able to take this guy on. I wonder how my El Fuerte could fare against him. Haven't seen too many videos on Daigo Vs. Fuertes.

  • got the cracked version at ssfighter4 ^dot ^info
